If you live in the Northeast, doesn’t it seem like this winter is a lot milder than last? Wasn’t last winter the first time any of us even heard the term polar vortex? According to Weather Underground, the average highs and lows in Boston:
January 2014: January 2015 (so far):
High: 14° F High: 34º
Low: 2º F Low: 19° F
So, looking at the numbers, you can conclude your memory is not tricking you and objectively, the beginning of last winter was much colder!
However, we are still in January and we are not out of the woods yet! Don’t forget Mark Twain’s classic expression about New England weather: “If you don’t like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes.” We don’t want to depress you, but we want to point out we still have the rest of January, all of February, and most of March left and anything can happen.
