Evolving an Industry
The purpose of CARB’s CHC regulation is to reduce diesel particulate matter (PM), oxides of sulfur (SOx), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to protect the environment and public health. The regulation, effective January 1, 2023, applies to on-water diesel fuels used in California harbors, ports, navigable waterways, marinas and marine navigation districts. CARB specifies that all diesel powered harbor craft must use renewable diesel exclusively, at concentrations of R99 or R100.
The choice is clear – Neste MY Renewable Diesel is the first R99 fuel to demonstrably meet all CARB requirements, including a flash point of 140ºF or greater.

The chemical composition of Neste MY Renewable Diesel makes it a direct, drop-in replacement for fossil diesel.
Scientific studies and real-world tests have shown that if you fill up with 100% Neste MY Renewable Diesel, in addition to a CO2 reduction of up to 75%, emissions of fine particulates can be reduced by up to 33%, hydrocarbons by up to 30%, carbon monoxide by up to 24%, and nitrogen oxides by up to 9%, as well as reduced levels of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).
