Since Diesel Direct was founded in 1998, our team has valued the importance of giving back and has been committed to supporting several charities. One of the charities we are committed to and faithfully support multiple times throughout the year is The Jimmy Fund. Founded in 1948, the Jimmy Fund raises funds to support adult and pediatric cancer care and cancer research. Their mission is “Dedicated to discovery….Committed to care.” The organization supports 380,000 patient visits each year.
For the month of April, Diesel Direct came together as a company to raise money for the “Rally for the Jimmy Fund” fundraising event. It was a Boston Red Sox-themed fundraiser that raised money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. On Opening Day, we supported The Jimmy Fund by dressing head-to-toe in Red Sox gear. Diesel Direct got festive for a great cause while being able to express their pride and love for the Red Sox. Diesel Direct then matched all proceeds raised by employees!
Since 2006, “Rally for the Jimmy Fund” has raised more than $4.5 million for Dana-Farber. This year, the program strived for $625,000 and we were so passionate and excited to be able to contribute towards that goal.
As Diesel Direct has expanded as a company, our commitment to charities has also grown. We proudly support national and local charities such as Boys and Girls Club of America, Boy Scouts of America, and The Home for Little Wanderers. With 2016 now in full swing and as the year progresses, Diesel Direct looks forward to continuing to give back to the community!
