January 2014: January 2015 (so far):
High: 14° F High: 34º
Low: 2º F Low: 19° F
So, looking at the numbers, you can conclude your memory is not tricking you and objectively, the beginning of last winter was much colder!
However, we are still in January and we are not out of the woods yet!
